šŸ‘©ā€šŸ’»āœØ Exciting News! Sykesville Public Library Partners with Girls Who Code! āœØšŸ‘©ā€šŸ’»

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Girls Who Code! This fall, weā€™re launching a K-12 Girls Coding Club, and we canā€™t wait to get started! šŸš€

The Club will be split into two groups:

Group A: Grades 3-5

Group B: Grades 6-12

Girls Who Code Clubs offer a chance for girls to be part of a supportive sisterhood where they can use Computer Science to change the world. With fun, interactive coding tutorials and community-building activities, each group will work together to design and build projects that solve real-world problems using code! šŸŒšŸ’»

Group A (Grades 3-5) will focus on reading a mix of non-fiction and fiction. Theyā€™ll explore ā€œLearn to Code and Change The Worldā€ and dive into the fiction book, ā€œThe Friendship Code.ā€ They will also use Scratch to learn how to animate a sprite, create movement, build animations, and more! šŸŽØāœØ

Group B (Grades 6-12) will dive deeper into coding languages like Scratch, Python, Swift, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced coder, this club is for you! You'll learn how to create animations, games, apps, and so much more! šŸŽ®šŸ’»

Join us as we help close the gender gap in tech! Contact the Sykesville Public Library to learn more and sign up for this exciting opportunity! Letā€™s code the future together.
